He was predeceased by: his parents, Otha Smith and Ivor Norwood Smith; his wife Jimmie Joyce Lay Smith; and his siblings, Kenneth Smith and Omie Smith White.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Smith (Betty), Karen Smith Barnett (Doug), Kimberly Sandlin (Jimmy) and Scottsboro; his grandchild Several; and his sisters, Virginia Humbert of Lawrenceburg and Cerena Littrell.
