He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Mitchell and Reba Estelle Ray; his sister Teresa Ray; and his siblings-in-law, Rebecca Faye Ray and Jimmy Garner.

He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Ray, Danny Ray (Linda), Stevie Ray, Edith Flippo (Willie), Ellen Gower (Alvin) and Geneva Garner. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
