He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hammond and Letha Hammond; and his brothers, Ozzo, Otto, Cleo and Leo Hammond.
He is survived by: his daughter Melinda Hammond Moses (Jon); his son-in-law Jon; his wife Clarice Nell; his daughter Melissa; his grandchildren, Keirstan, Kaz and Kaleb; his great grandchildren, Navey-Klaire and Sayla-Kennedy; and his siblings, Bobby Hammond (Ann), Jane Eighner and Joyce Bowery. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to request that all unvaccinated attendees practice social distancing guidelines and wear a mask if at all possible.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gum Springs Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
