He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Coleman and Alberta Gardner; and his son Johnny Gardner. He is survived by: his significant other Dora Phifer; his daughters, Mary Kennedy (Barry), Judy Solomon (Rick) and Rhonda Billmeyer; his siblings, Jimmy Gardner, Joan Cotton (David), Margaret Sue Morrison (Mark) and Jean Geivet; his grandchildren, Ben, Anna, Aric, Craig and Chris; and his great grandchild Abby. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
