With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joe Purcell of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 12, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orb Purcell and Nell Fowler Purcell; his brother Bruce Purcell; and his grandson Justin "Opey" Purcell. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Coffey Purcell of Lawrenceburg, TN; his sons, Mike Purcell (Pam) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jeff Purcell (Jan) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Chuck Purcell (Angie) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his grandchildren, Josh of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jaxsen of Lawrenceburg, TN and Jacey of Lawrenceburg, TN; his great grandchildren, Talan of Lawrenceburg, TN, Taybrie of Lawrenceburg, TN, Carson of Lawrenceburg, TN, Gunner of Lawrenceburg, TN and Mason of Lawrenceburg, TN; and his siblings, Carolyn Purcell of Lawrenceburg, TN and James "Booty" Purcell of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Neal Funeral Home (231 N Military Ave, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Butterfly Foundation.
