James Robert Leighton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Robert Leighton of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, who passed away on January 21, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster B. Leighton and Marie Gunnell Leighton; and his brother Frank Leighton. He is survived by: his wife Sara Leighton (Dolly); his sons, Brian Leighton (Sandy) of Athens, AL and Robert Leighton (Lori) of Kimberly, AL; his grandchildren, Allie Marie Leighton, Luke Robert Leighton and Haylee Roberts; his sons, Drew Merrell and Derek Merrell (Griffin); his great grandchild Theo; and his sister Jane Carolyn Hardee of Alabaster, AL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in James' honor be made to the ECOC building fund or the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief.
