He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Wilson and Minnie Bell Williams Hayes; his wife Virginia Sue Brewer Hayes; and his siblings, Barney Hayes, Ottis Hayes, Tom Hayes, Charles Hayes and Pauline Newton.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Roberson (Bobby) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Betty Heard of Lawrenceburg, TN, Debbie Harris (Chuck) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Randall Hayes (Tammy) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Ginger Durham (Tommy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his grandchildren, Nick Fox, Jackie D. Heard, Crystal Davis, Blake Flesher, Lila Durham and Hunter Durham; and his great grandchildren, Tori Heard, Lexi Heard, Cole Heard, Madi Heard, Riley Davis, Ryder Davis, Hayes Flesher and Holt Flesher.
The family suggests memorials be made to Lawrence County Disabled American Veterans Chapter (DAV).
