He is survived by: his wife Anita Pettus Short; his sons, Donald Mark Short (Tracy) and David Kent Short; his grandchildren, Samuel Warren Short (Katie), Andrew Short, Kaleb Short (Natalie), Zachary Short (Kaylynn) and Lindsey Willis; his great grandchildren, Kadan of Lawrenceburg, Gracie Short of Lawrenceburg, Annie of Lawrenceburg, Knox Willis of Lawrenceburg, Maddie of Lawrenceburg and Millie Short of Lawrenceburg; and his sister Delores Jeanette Johnson of Smyrna, TN. He is also survived by Nieces and Nephews.
