He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ray and Thelma Jeter Ray; and his siblings, Justin Ray, Dorothy Youngbar and Anne Tolle.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Joyce Ray of Lawrenceburg, TN; and his children, Jerry P. Ray (Angelia) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ronnie Ray (Jennifer) of Ethridge, TN and Michelle Huntley (Rex) of Leoma, TN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
