He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leon Smith and Helen Hendrix Smith; his wife Celisa Bryant Smith of Lavinia; his children, Kelly Thomas (Jimmy) of Lavinia, Josh Smith (Jessica) of Milan and Eric Young (Kelly) of Milan; his grandchildren, Hunter Thomas, Harrison Thomas, Mariana Grace Smith, Cody Harris, Ace Young, Cayden Harris, Carter Harris and Cash Young; and his siblings, Ricky Smith and Cindy Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, TN in memory of Michael Dale Smith.
