He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Fay Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Parker; his child Harley Katherine (Drew Landguth) of Maryville, TN.; his father Jimmy Matthews "DooLittle" of Lascassas; his sister Allison Bogle (Brent); his nephew Brice Bogle; and his niece Reagan Bogle of Lascassas. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, grandparents and extended family.

He was a fan of NASCAR and country music, with memorials to both Dale Earnhardt Sr, and Hank Williams Sr, adorning the walls of his home.
