She was predeceased by: her father Thomas Hardley; her husband Charles William Layhew Sr.; her son Steve Allen Layhew; and her siblings, Thomas Edmund DuBois, Tommie Lee Merriman, Lillie Mae Jones, Francis Louise Brannon and Mattie Laura Haislip.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Gale Stanley (Larry), Pamela Kay Mathews (Jeff), Charles William Layhew Jr. (Arlene) and Timothy Wayne Layhew (Jean); and her daughter-in-law Cindy Layhew Bare. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
