She was predeceased by: her son Billy Cox; her parents, Roscoe Burton and Mossie Strong Burton; and her siblings, Marie Carden, Charlene Langston, Elizabeth Sharp, Ann Halcomb, Sue Foust, Janie Shepherd, Jimmy, Johnny and Benny Burton.

She is survived by: her husband Frank Cox; her children, Shelia (Jim Pierce), Regina (John Kelly), Tara (Jason Massengill), James Cox and Tom (Teresa Cox); her daughter-in-law Lisa Cox; her grandchildren, Stephanie Wasson, Heather Cox, Kimberly Cox, Rory Massengill, Cassadie Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Brandon Cox, Carson Pierce, Colby Cox and Patrick Massengill; and her sister Kay Webb. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
