He is survived by: his wife Susan Neiswender McCarty; his children, Olivia McCarty, Orice David McCarty Jr. (Beth) and Jessie James McCarty (Rebecca); and his sister Cobia Stagnolia Along. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
