He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Wright and Colleen Williams Wright; his siblings, Lynn Wright, Kyle Wright and Helen Jean Wright; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Betty Carroll.

He is survived by: his children, Stacey Michelle Paul (Arnold Smiddy), Tabatha Skeene (Darrin Richmond) and David Michael Wright Jr. (Ida Crabtree); his grandchildren, Sydney Horne, Johnathan Paul and Abby Paul; his brother Robin Wright (Joyce); his half-brother Roman Keith Wright; his sisters, Susie Wilson (Larry) and Diane Pierce (Bob Pierce); and his sister-in-law Darlene Wright. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews, A host of other relatives and friends.
