He was predeceased by: his father Earnest Casper Jessie; his son Mike Jessie; and his siblings, Joyce Fletcher, Joann Edwards, Carolyn Melton, Earl Jessie and Ray Jessie.

He is survived by: his son Christopher Jessie of Knoxville; his daughter-in-law Lynn Jessie of LaFollette; his grandchildren, Katelyn Jessie, Aerielle Hickman and Ethan Gosnell; his great grandchildren, Kyia, Dominic and Zayne; and his siblings, Arvil Jessie of North Carolina and Dorothy Turley of Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
