He is survived by: his wife Rita Mae Hackett; his children, Jeffery Hackett (Melody), Angela Kirby and Kimberly Shoulders; his grandchildren, Cliffton Hackett (Callie), Allison McCarter (Dakota), Jed Hackett, Caitlin Sapp (Wesley), Nathan Kirby (Haley) and Ethen Shoulders; his great grandchildren, Benton Wayne Kirby, John Willis Hackett and Tommy Lane Sapp; and his brother Tommy Hackett (Donna).
