He was predeceased by: his former wife Virginia Bergdorf Atkins; his parent Letcher Atkins; his grandmother Evans Atkins; and his siblings, Joe Atkins, Willard Atkins, Lois Anderson and Wanda Walrond.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Atkins; his daughters, Jennifer Brawner (Troy Terry Atkins) and Gilda; his brother Sam Atkins; his grandchildren, Sheena Sewell (Randall Mandy Stinson), Shawn Maghen Joyner (Kevin Josh Brawner), Megan Holden Atkins (Tori Honorary) and Torrey Lowhorn; his stepdaughters, Melissa Rice (Mike Justin Samples) and Marcy; his stepgrandson Malachi Rice Fifteen; and also Whom. He is also survived by Fifteen Great-Grandchildren, Two Great-Great-Grandchildren.
