He was predeceased by: his parents, Olie Wix and Lillian Wix; his siblings, Nellie Frances Wix Slayton, Jimmie Forrest Wix, Jerry Willard Wix and Harold Gene Wix; and his daughters, Leslie Alice Wix and Susan Marie Wix.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Meador Wix of Lafayette, TN; his children, Katherine Wix, Derrick Wix and David Wix, Jr.; his stepchildren, Wendell Meador, Susan Emberton (Kerry) and Melissa Vines (Chris); his siblings, Maxie Wix (Patricia), Fred Wix (Patricia), Melba Carter (James Beasley), Shirley Carter (Ray Dean), Peggy Fannin and Barbara Smith Grand (Ronald); his children, Jada Ann Wix Grand and Conor Young Wix; and his stepgrandchildren, Andrew Emberton, Bryan Emberton, Erin Emberton Tucker and Trenton Vines.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations to the Pike Cemetery fund.
