She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Caughorn and Lucy Caughorn; her husband Nathan Lesley "L. N." Bales; and her siblings, Luther Caughorn, Jr., Elizabeth Proctor and Charlie Mae Tipton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry Moore (Stanley), Kim Bates (John A.) and Stephanie Jones (Chris); her grandchildren, Laura Byrd, Sarita Smith (Sam), Samantha Albright (Jon), Sophia Jones and Alexis Jones; her great grandchildren, Madison Byrd, Sydney Flynn, Austin Byrd and Granger Albright; her siblings, Carl Caughorn (Lori), Mary Helton (Howard), Shirley Whitehead (Jerry) and Diana "Tucker" Childress (Tony); and her close friend Franklin "Bud" Dupes.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bridges Funeral Home (5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:45 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (140 Bass Pro Dr, Kodak, TN 37764).
