He was predeceased by: his parents, Brinton Lee Grimes and Lillie Mae Burton. He is survived by: his wife Wilma; his children, Mark Steven Grimes (Katherine), Walter Brinton Grimes and Linda Grimes Ray (Brian); his grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor and Hunter; his great grandchild Mia; his siblings-in-law, Sondra, J. C. Newman, Ginger and Gary Price; and his pet Donnie Boy. He is also survived by many nieces/great-nieces and nephews/great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fountain City Chapel (2829 Rennoc Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 10:45 AM and at 11:00 AM.
