With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steve Lunsford of Knoxville, Tennessee, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on January 26, 2025 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Steve Lunsford to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthie Lunsford and Mary Lunsford; his father-in-law Lee Stooksbury; his stepmother-in-law Margie Stooksbury; and his siblings-in-law, Anna S. Driggers and Wayne Stooksbury.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Humphrey; his son Erik Lunsford (Karla); his grandchildren, Andrew Lunsford and Hannah Lunsford of St. Louis, MO; his stepchildren, Kevin Humphrey (Darla), David Humphrey (Sherri) and Pam Hancock (Mark); his grandchildren, Jessica Walker (Daniel), Amelia, Derek Hancock (Chelsea) and Tristain; his siblings-in-law, Lena Weaver (Marshall), Wanda Bullis (Ken), Frances Hellard, Shirley Stooksbury and Dennis Driggers; and his close friend Jim Morgan.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel (5301 Fountain Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
