He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Milton Stivers, Sr. and Virginia Thurston Stivers. He is survived by: his spouse Beth Pettit Stivers; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Justin, Mason, Caleigh and Carson Belle; his sister Nancy Stivers Rowland (Lloyd); and his nieces and nephews, Cassie, Lesa, Michele, Michael, Lloyd and Ben.
