He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Courtney and Zelpha Courtney; his brother Alfred Jay Courtney; his nephews, Lance and Mark Courtney; and his sister-in-law Sharon Courtney.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Brown Courtney; his children, Robert "Bobby" Courtney (Eileen), Michael "Mike" Courtney (Kelly) and Cynthia "Cindy" Coile (Victor); and his siblings, James Courtney (Cathy) and Joyce Coffman (Tom). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
