He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Love Chiles; his parents, James William and Virdie Lee Chiles; and his siblings, James W. Chiles Jr., Jessie Lee Cooper, Rubye Yarbrough and Lucille Hudgins.
He is survived by: his son Kendall; his daughter-in-law Starr Bennett Chiles; and his grandchildren, Parker Chiles (Amber) and Lauren Chiles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church (12915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934). A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Forest Cemetery.
