With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Faye (Lawson) Carr of Knoxville, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Lawson and Nannie Lawson; and her brother Ralph W. Lawson. She is survived by: her husband Gene H. Carr of Knoxville; her children, Aaron Carr (Jennifer) of Knoxville and Christy Carr Knope (Jason) of Marietta, GA; her grandchildren, Makenzie Carr (Michael) of Savannah, GA, Jackson Knope of Marietta, GA, Holden Knope of Atlanta, GA, Courtney Carr of Knoxville and Donald Carpenter of Carthage, NY; her great grandchild Asher Johnson of Watertown, NY; her brother William Earl Lawson of LaFollette; her sister-in-law Lois Carr McMahan (Jack) of Sevierville; her nieces, Jackie McMahan Underwood (Randy) of Sevierville and Lori McMahan Moore of Sevierville; and her close friends, Mildred Asbury, Carol Adams, Shirley Coker, Jo Ellen Rast, Lisa Gibson, Christine Krause and Julie McBee Fritz.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cedar Hill Baptist Church (636 Demory Rd, LaFollette, TN 37766). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
