He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Clyde Rutherford and Jewel Rutherford; his stepson Scott Roberts (Scooter); and his siblings, Rev. James Halbert Rutherford and Margaret Catherine Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Rutherford of Knoxville Tn; his stepsons, Steven Harold Roberts of Knoxville Tn and James Roberts (Nick) of Knoxville; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Rutherford of Maryville. He is also survived by 5 nieces and 3 nephews along with 8 Step grandchildren and 10 great step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Apostolic Church (5020 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Knoxville, TN 37912). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (3500 Old Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918).
