It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Hunley Oaks of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Oaks; her brother Lonnie Hunley; her close friend Nancy Roach; and her parents, Alonzo Hunley (Lorraine) and Carrie Hunley.
She is survived by: her son Tim Oaks (Sharon); her grandchildren, Helena Oaks (Dustin DelMoro), James Oaks (Shantelle), Brennan Oaks (Savannah) and Kimberly Shordon (Ian); her great grandchildren, Ella James, Truett, Theodore and Elijah Oaks; her siblings, Pat Egnoto (Frank), Gary Hunley (Bettye) and Candy Harris (Drew); and her sister-in-law Mary Hunley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
