He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis LaRue and Elizabeth LaRue; his son Edward C. "Eddie" Jr.; and his sisters, Mary Jane, Patsy Jo and Elinor.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Jane LaRue; his children, Deborah Jo Debord (Randy) and Tim LaRue; his grandchildren, Joy DeBord, Maranda DeBord Collins and Randy DeBord, III; his great grandchildren, Kayla McDowell, Daniel Collins and Edward; and also Khloe Jade Sosebee.
