She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Marvin, Irene Harrison, Warren and Pearl Roark; her father Herbert Lee Roark; and her cousin Nathan Fritts.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph John Alston Jr.; her mother Bonnie Terry; her children, Sheena Kay Mahabirsingh (Anthony), Shelby Lynn Johnson and Jeffrey Michael Alston; her grandchildren, Isaac, Allison, Eli, Helix, Mia and Corinna; her siblings, Sondra Lee Perdue (Bobby) and Brian Warren Roark (Lori); her sisters-in-law, Susan Feliciano (Manuel III) and Nancy Alston Martin; her aunt Mary; her uncle Ed Adams; and her nieces and nephews, Cody, Brandon, Stephanie, Brittany, Anita, Delana and Jamie. She is also survived by many great nephews, great nieces and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Halls Chapel (4131 E Emory Rd, Knoxville, TN 37938). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Ft. Sumpter Community Cemetery.
