He was predeceased by: his wife Betty McMillan; his parents, Jay Samuel and Jennie Dovat; and his uncle Ernest Dovat. He is survived by: his sons, Michael McMillan (Alicia) and James McMillan; his grandchildren, Jay and Jesse; and also Tom Ballard.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery (3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918).
