She was predeceased by: her parents, James William (J. W.) and Velma Viola Hopkins of Pampa, TX; and her siblings, JC Hopkins (Pat), Billie Jeffers (Gene), Dick Hopkins (Nancy) and Jerry Hopkins.

She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Mowery, Jr.; her children, James Mowery (Sonya), Brenda Mowery Witt (Ken), Michael Mowery (Susan), Keith Mowery (Paula) and Joel Mowery (Lara); her grandchildren, Stephanie Witt, Branden Witt (Stephanie), Brittany Witt, Drew Mowery, Will Mowery (Katie), Chris Haynes (Mary), Jarod Mowery (Kate), Shelly Mowery, Andy Mowery, Ben Mowery and Jake Mowery; her great grandchildren, Henry Witt and James David Mowery; and also Dolly. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Amalie's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
