He is survived by: his sons, James Edward Choate (Jamie) and John Michael Choate; his grandchildren, Christina Choate of Kingston, Willow Jones of Kingston and Brooke Jones of Kingston; his godson Jaxsen Kanipes of Clinton; and his siblings, Gary Choate (Connie), Brenda Lee (Vernon), Linda South and Gail Ramsey (David).
