He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Anderson and Fannie Keever Anderson; his granddaughter Brooke Putnam (Betty); his children, Wendy Anderson Sellers and Drew Anderson; and the mother of his children Nancy Orr.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Kirkpatrick Anderson of Kingston, TN.; his children, Tyson Anderson (Brenda) of Bear Creek, NC, Whitney Leigh (Josh) of Waynesville, NC and Patrick Ewart (Liza) of Waynesville, NC.; his grandchildren, Taryn Welch (Paden), Rex Allen Sellers (Holli), Amy Sellers, Ryder Anderson, Nicholas Ewart, Nathan Ewart and Jadyn Slaton; and his brothers, LeRoy Anderson (Becky) of Marble, NC and Johnny Anderson (Karen) of Robbinsville, NC..
