She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Wesley Brooks; her parents, Ralph Coggins and Lena Ward Coggins; her daughter Teresa Winkler; and her grandsons, Haney and Keith Reese.

She is survived by: her daughters, Melinda "Duck" Kelterborn (Harry), Glenda "Ann" Ivey (Billy), Cathy Elrod (Danny) and Carla Bates (Michael). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
