He was predeceased by: his parent Newt. He is survived by: his wife Martha Mitchell McCray; his daughter Laura Shields (Scott); his granddaughters, Adrienne Shields (Tim Olanovich), Hannah Shields and Bethany Tate (Austin); and his great grandchildren, Gabriella Ballard and Kai Olanovich. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
