She was predeceased by: her husband Denver Blair; her son Randell; her daughter-in-law Sherry Blair; her parents, John Horton and Callie Horton; her sister Sue Stapleton; her sister-in-law Peggy Horton; and her brothers, Pleas Horton and Otis Horton.

She is survived by: her son Keith Blair (Teresa); her grandchildren, Ray Blair (Amy) and Melinda Wilcox (Justin); her great grandchildren, Travis Blair (Keyli), Aaron Blair, Ava Wilcox and Drake Wilcox; her great great grandchild Cohen Blair; her brother Herbert Horton; and her siblings-in-law, Drusilla Horton, Willie Horton and James Stapleton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Vergie's honor to Pleasant View Baptist Church, General Fund, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664.
