It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Gale McMurray of Kingsport, Tennessee, born in Hiltons, Virginia, who passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester McMurray and Ruth McMurray; his siblings, Woodrow, Dewey, Hagan, Garvie, Perry and Brenda Gaye Williams; his former wife Shirley Pennington McMurray; and his son Tony.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa McMurray; his son Thomas Charles "Chuck" McMurray (Wendy); his sisters, Hazel Wilson, Genevieve McMurray, Peggy Hughes (Ralph), Faye Sturgill (Robert) and Patsy Laughlin (Darrell); his siblings-in-law, Nancy McMurray and Charles Williams; his stepchildren, Sandy, Susan, Tommy and Deno; and his grandchildren, Nichole Story and Aireal Pressley. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
