He was predeceased by: his father Dana Burns. He is survived by: his mother Polly Burns; his wife Anne Burns; his sons, Richard Burns and Robert Burns (Michele); his sister Mary Spears (Ike); his stepson Charles Ruffner; and his nieces, Melissa Spears and Cindy Chandler. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
