It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxie Bernice Carter Mellons of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Paul Mellons; and her daughter Freda Salyers. She is survived by: her children, Garry Lawson, Glenn Lawson, Bobby Lawson, Yvonne Morris, Teresa Williams, Ricky Carter, Dena McConnell, Paula Collins and Marlene Dillard (Chuck); and her brothers, Fred Sams, Ronald Sams (Betty) and Charles Sams (Joyce). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
