She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel David Alaniz; and her parents, John Forbes and Claudia Fincher. She is survived by: her children, Dianna Lynn Masingale (Gene) and Ronald Tyrone Freeman; her stepchildren, Larry Alaniz and Trina Jackson; her grandchildren, David Lee Freeman and Ashleigh Nicole Pratt; and her brother Gary Lee Forbes (Alma). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
