He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Palmer and Lois Palmer; his former wife Donna Moore Palmer; his siblings, Sandra Wagner (Floyd), Bob Palmer (Janet) and John Palmer; and his siblings-in-law, Kim Dickson, Arthur "Buddy" Moore (Jean), Patsy Arnold, Marie Koone and Ailene Perry (Dan).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jackson Burrell; his sons, Jason Palmer of Euless and Benjamin Palmer (Gabriella) of Eldersburg, Maryland; his grandchildren, David, Andrew Palmer and Liliana Palmer; his sister Celeste Dickson of Kingsport; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Palmer of Kingsport and Melva Moore of Kingsport; his nieces and nephews, Leslie Smith (David) and Aaron Burrell (Rachel); and also, Lucy Smith, River Smith, Sawyer Smith, Devon Burrell and Taylor Sutherland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
