He was predeceased by: his parents, James P. Abee and Alberta Abee Barker of Rutherford College, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Sue Harkleroad Abee; his children, Mark Winfield Abee and Sharon Lisenby (Kent); his grandsons, Austin and Carson; his sisters, Arlene Baker (Howard), JoAnn Hallyburton and Nancy Jackson; and his nieces and nephews, Alice, Rick, Joy, Rex, Eddie, Ruth Harkleroad, Charlie, Fay Weaver, Paulette Dean and Burleigh Pearson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Mountain View United Methodist Church (4405 Orebank Road Kingsport, TN 37664).
