He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Lewis (Margie); and his niece Asia Foster. He is survived by: his wife Renee Hammitt (Wells); his children, Amber Hammitt Williams, Lindsay Hammitt Seaver (Mickey) and Rhyne Hammitt (Kelley); his grandchildren, Karsyn Williams, Blake Hammitt, Tanner Williams and Scottie Hammitt; his great grandchild Aspen Salyers; his siblings, Jerry Hammitt (Colleen), Will Hammitt and Judy Housewright (Rick); his niece Starr Manis (Eddie); and his great-nephew Will.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes - Kingsport (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Promise Ministries Church at 2244 Hall Street to continue his legacy of helping those in need and honoring David's generous spirit and commitment to lifting others.
