It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Bates of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Lawrence Lancaster and Margaret McMillen Lancaster; and her husband Paul Bates. She is survived by: her sisters, Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy and Anna Lancaster Cox; her brother-in-law Dr. Bobby Cox; her daughter Dana; her son-in-law Tony Skaggs of Johnson City; her son Jason; her daughter-in-law Angela Bates of Gray, Tennessee.; and her grandchildren, Caleb Bates, Jacob Bates, Cody Skaggs, Madison Skaggs and Zack Skaggs. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
