He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Grills and Viola Grills. He is survived by: his wife Patty Grills; his children, Brandon Grills, Jaxon Grills, John Grills, Jaiden Grills, Jerod Grills, Dravin Salyer and Madilene Grills; his sister Carolyn Pratt (Robert); and his cousins, Judy Grills, Janice Gamble and Tom Hite. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
