He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Phipps and Ora Miller Phipps; his former wife Patsy Hawks Phipps; his son Charles Phipps; and his sister Shirley Bruce.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Burleson Phipps; his children, Jeana Spears (Gene), David Phipps (Sharon), Tina Cole (Boyd) and Ivan Phipps; and his grandchildren, Charlie Spears, Robert Spears, Audra Atwell, Laura Darnell, Bethany Reed, Candace Mullins, Ethan Cole, Chelsea Verbal, Cassie Phipps and Brice Phipps.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A memorial service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM.
