He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin Boyd and Martha Fay Cox Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Kathi Boyd; his children, Bryan Boyd, Brooke Boyd Seal (Charlton Seal) and James Boatright (Tina); his grandchildren, James Boatright, Jr. (Brook), Augustina Whetzel, London Seal, Marlo Seal and Katie Fillers; his cousins, Mary Katherine Jackson (Carl), Ann Ratliff, Betty Smith, Donna Bandy and Keith Boyd (Debbie); and his caregiver Barbara Edwards.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Holston Home for Children, or a local animal shelter of your choice.
