She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Ward and Bessie Barker Ward; her husband Thomas Gordon "Sonny" Johnson; and her son Brian Ward Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Ruth Newmon, Beverly Dawn Garner (David) and Thomas Lyndale Johnson. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
