It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Gene Bergfeld of Kenton, Tennessee, born in Troy, Missouri, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Carl Gene departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Carl Gene may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Carl Gene leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bergfeld and Mary Della Taylor Bergfeld; and his sister Ruby June Mette. He is survived by: his wife Jane Bergfeld; his children, Michael Bergfeld and Lori Fuller; his stepdaughter Kim Bunch Smith; and his siblings, Gary Bergfeld and Linda Broyles. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Kenton (217 W Church St, Kenton, TN 38233). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 1:15 PM at the Davidson Chapel Cemetery (399 Laneview-Concord Rd, Trenton, TN 38382).
